To create an intentional method of providing a safe, substance free and sound community in which one can grow to become a productive citizen
To reduce substance abuse by raising awareness of addictive substances and other drug related issues that can adversely affect the youth of Trimble County and advocate for population level changes through collaborative community partnerships.
The Coalition works with many community partners on projects and events around Trimble County including working with the TC Sheriff’s Department and with Fiscal Court to pass legislation. The Coalition hosts substance free events including community forums and educational sessions open to the public.
The Coalition currently has programs in all 3 schools in the Trimble County District with our main office located on the Junior and Senior High School Campus. We present at all health and career fairs, speak to classes, implement programs on bullying and substance use, and work with our youth in the Sources of Strength Club.
Since 1998 we have hosted Project Prom immediately following Prom for all TCHS Juniors and Seniors and their dates. In that time we have not had one substance abuse related incident with our youth the night of prom, a night notorious for underage drinking.
